TwentyTwentyTwo

It's Friday!! :)

Yesterday turned out to a loonnnngggg day, for just about everyone it seems. So long in fact, that Matt suggested we head to the grocery store and pick up some wine and beer. We did, then had the brilliant idea to try to rent "Taken" from a red box. We tried, to no avail, last Friday, and we quite dissapointed. So when we tried again, and on a day that things just weren't gonig right, we should've known......

First place - the guy was putting new movies in it. Told us it'd take a while. Second place - machine said "system maintenance" - what?!? What is it doing?? So we go across the street, SAME thing - stupid maintenance. It was rough. 3 red boxes and noooo movie. We go back to the first place and wait it out. We'll get the movie no matter what; it's almost a competition now: who will win? Matt did. :) We waited, it worked, they had it. The movie was good. Though, after allll that work, perhaps a little dissapointing. For that amount of work, I almost expected another Forrest Gump or Beauty and the Beast. At least Crash.

But, the night ended well. We each had our beverage of choice and I made some guac and chips, he made some ham and pinapple and we ate. And we watched. And it was good.

I'm not being very productive today. But it's the Friday before holiday and no one is here, and if they are, they're in the same un-productive boat as me.

I like dresses. You know why? If I wake up late, I can just throw one on. Don't have to worry about matching - it's nice. Anything I can do for a few extra minutes of sleep. :) Well not sleep so much as just laying in bed...mmmmm.....I can still see Confucius curled up on the red pillow at the end.....

So, I think I'm caving. I will eventually do the wedding book thing on facebook - now that Jenny has also asked, it's about the 3rd person. Matt said he didn't have any idea what it even was. Hahaha.

P.S. Yay for the pool opening!!!! :)

TwentyTwentyOne

I'm uber tired today. But it's Thursday, which means one more day and I get to relllllaxxxx. Yay for the pool opening on Saturday. I'm trying to not wish for the weekend and such so I don't "wish my life away" (words from Sandy), but it's hard not to look forward to Memorial Day. And the pool. :)

I need to stop yawning! It's embarassing. My bad.

So, right abocve my desk is this big window - a skylight. And it's pretty awesome, I bascially have a window office. I should mention, no one has an office here at Mars; they'll call it an open plan. Every single person just has bascially a desk, even the CEO. And Frank Mars sits directly next to me; talk about pressure!

Last night, I picked up Matt from work and then we went to Olive Garden. We haven't been there in forever, so it was fun. I'm such a creature of habit though- if I find something I like, it's all I ever order. I just don't see the point in wasting my time with questionable items. Besides, I can take a bite off someone else's plate to determine what I'm missing out on. Best of both worlds. Like Hannah Montanta. What a great show. Hah. I'm not joking, Miley and Selena, totally watch them. Matt does too. I just admit it more quickly than him. But he does. ;)

At Mars, they have a gym and personal trainer, so I've been working out with Melody once a week, and trying to workout for 30 minutes a day. I'm trying to get wedding skinny, and I don't just mean mine; hahah. I figure if there's ever a time to get in shape, it's now when I don't have any excuses. They have a shower in the locker room, and I still admit, it grosses me out. I don't do showers at work. Don't get me wrong, I do wipe off if you will, but no showers. Ew, I don't need those scars for life. ;) There is one woman who does, and everyone knows it. I won't be that girl.

Anyway, 30 minute workouts. And Melody gave me this ab routine. Not so easy. Give me a few months, we'll see what happens.

I miss Andy and more importantly, the flowers he'd give me. I wonder if he'd remember me.

Oh! So, Matt and I were at my old church for last Christmas service, and I go up to my pastor, totally doesn't even really know me, gives me the standard line. So, I'm all miffed, but then, when I join the new church out here, I get an email from a woman saying welcome, and saying I got a personalized message as well from Pastor Kent, saying blah di blah di, point is, he does remember me. My life is fufilled. :) I spent a lot of time there so as you can imagine, I was a tad hurt when I thought he forgot me, thus, the note was much appreciated. And yes, I'm writing him back. :)

What else? I feel bad I haven't written in so long.

I have a certificate of excellence on my desk for being a fetus. No joke. I'll take a picture maybe in case you don't believe me.

I'm not a fan of hand sanitzer. Or shaving cream or whipped cream. Really, makes me a little sick. Again, no joke.

Suppose that's all. Back to the grind. ;)

TwentyTwenty

I'm starting with a big jump, I know.

But a lot has happened in the months and months since I last wrote.

I won't lie, I forgot I had this blog until Laura sent a link to her blog and I wanted to comment and wham, it reminds me I have one as well.

So, what's changed....I have a new job (yay for not being bored!!) at Mars, Inc. as a Coordinator - and that's my technical title because they have no idea what it should be. I'm organizing meetings, conferences and booking a lot of international travel. It's a little hectic sometimes, and I often wish the my bosses would learn a little basic Lotus Notes skills (i.e. Outlook), but alas. ;) No, it's been good thus far, and there's even a few younger co-workers to make friends with!

One such new friend is Diana - the one I've bonded with the most quickly and am even heading to her wedding this Saturday with Matt.

Oh....mmmmm.....gooodness! It's been a long while, huh? Ha. Matt and I are engaged, set our date and even booked the church and reception site. The sites are great, and we're so excited to have that finalized. Now, the fun stuff. And since it's so far out, we can relax and take our time. :)

I have a lot to say, but not a lot of time. I have to leave early today to head to a Mickey LeLand tribue for Mars...I'm meeting Matt there, which means, I have to go home, feed kitties, change, and be downtown DC by 6:20ish. :)

Life is good. LG. You know, the Verizon compnay. Life's good? Ha.

Tomorrow I'll try to write about the gala, the air show, Julie and anything else I can think of.

Today, I'm out.

P.S. I didn't forget about the post scripts. ;)
